In a facebook post, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz stated "Starting June 1st, Erie County and NYS are capping the amount of sales tax collected on gasoline
and diesel sales. It may take a few days based on when retailers receive their next delivery, but between the state and county caps, prices should drop by about 25-30¢ a gallon."
In Buffalo, the average price of gas is $4.83 a gallon. The state average has remained at $4.93, according to AAA.
